When you graduate from nursing school and pass the NCLEX examination, you become licensed to practice as a registered nurse. But being licensed as a registered nurse only means that you have met the minimum qualifications for entry into the profession. For some people, meeting minimum entry qualifications is enough throughout their whole career. What about you? Is achieving the minimum enough for you? Or do you aim for being excellent in what you know and the care you give? If you were the patient, would you want a nurse who meets minimum criteria or one who meets higher standards? As a nurse, do you want to work for an organization that values excellence or one that values only minimum performance?
