Supporting and Retaining Nephrology Nurses New to the Peritoneal Dialysis Specialty

The use of home dialysis treatment modalities, including peritoneal dialysis, is increasing. To have a successful peritoneal dialysis program, organizations must recognize the special abilities required of the nurse practicing in the peritoneal dialysis specialty. This article identifies strategies that can be used to educate, develop, and retain these nurses.
