Update to Last Month's 'All GOPs Are Not TOPs'

On June 16, 2011, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued an order in two proceedings that were referenced in our July column, "All GOPs Are Not TOPs." The column reported that the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) had registered a number of generators as Transmission Owners (TOs) and Transmission Operators (TOPs) due to their ownership or operation of radial tie-lines used solely to connect the generator to the transmission grid.
