ThepigproductionsystemindeepbeddingisnowveryimportantinCuba,inproductiveandsocialterms,asanalternativeforsmall-scalepigproduction.Thispaperconcernsthephysical-chemicalstudies(organicmatter,nitrogen,phosphorous,ratecarbon/nitrogen,pHandtemperature)andmicrobiologicalstudies(fecalcoliforms,Salmonellaspandhelminteggs)madetothecompostgeneratedfromthissystemintheSwineResearchInstitute.Wascharacterizedthecompostaftertwobreedingcyclesof106dayseach.Microbiologicalresultsweretransformedtolog10(x+1)andthestatisticalanalysisofthechemicalandmicrobiologicalparameterswasappliedtoanalysisofvariance,usingamathematicalmodelofsimpleclassification.nbsp;Thisresidueshowedarelativelyhighcontentofoxidizableorganicmatter,withanearneutralpHandthermophilictemperaturevalues.Thenitrogenlevelreported(0.97)iscomparabletotheinternationallyestablishedrulesfordifferentbiosolidsandtherewasnopresenceofphosphorus.TherewasnopresenceofSalmonellasp.orhelmintseggsattheendoftwocyclesofbreeding.Itwasconcludethatthecompostfromthedeepbeddingsystemforfatteningpigs,intheSwineResearchInstitute,isapotentialsourceofnutrientstobeappliedinagricultureasorganicfertilizeranddoesnotrepresentrisksfrommicrobiologicalpointofview.Itwasrecommendedtoevaluatetheuseofthiswasteoncestabilizedasorganicfertilizerindifferentcrops.
