Gold bonds issue price fixed at Rs 2,600/gram

The Reserve Bank has fixed the public issue price at Rs 2,600 per gram for the sovereign gold bonds, for which applications will be accepted from Monday. The second tranche of sovereign gold bonds and the pricing has been made more attractive as compared to the first tranche when the issue price was Rs 2,684 per gram. The first tranche of the scheme, which was launched in November, had got a subscription for 915.95 kg gold amounting to Rs 246 crore.
