Numerical analysis of elastic deformation in half space body contacts by using multilevel multi-integration

摘要

The rapid development of computer performance enables to analyze more complex tribologicalproblems. Even though, some numerical analyses of tribological problems such as fullelastohydrodynamic (LHD) analysis are still expensive. Because EHD analyses are required multiIntegration to calculate elastic deformation in each iteration, the computing cost of elasticdeformation is extremely expensive. Since Multilevel Multi-Integration (MLMI) has developed by Brandt and Lublecht, it has beensuccessfully applied for computing elastic deformations. The drastic reduction of computing time byMLMI enables to investigate problems that require large mesh size, i.e. elastohydrodynamiclubrication with rough surfaces. In this paper, the short explanation of MLMI will be given for unfamiliar readers to MLMI at firstand then the error analysis of MLMI for given Hertzian contact pressure distributions will beobtained.
