Prevention better than a cure

Farms are dangerous workplaces with risks of death and serious injury posed by, most notably, farm machinery and vehicles. To combat these risks Government and other farm safety bodies are working to arm farmers with the know-how to reduce or eliminate such dangers. Many respondents to the 2008 Kondinin Group National Agricultural Survey (NAS) listed agricultural-related accidents as a specific rural health issue affecting themselves, their family and their community.
