Stopping fleabane before it becomes a problem

If you want to keep weeds such as fleabane under control you can't expect to win the battle with short-term, reactive solutions. In fact, the menace has to be controlled at different stages throughout the year. Flaxleaf fleabane is a major weed of cropping in southern Queensland and northern NSW. It can be difficult to control and has increased for several reasons, including increased adoption of no-till farming, heavy reliance on glyphosate for fallow weed control, reduced use of chlorsulfuron herbicides in wheat and the introduction of wide row spacing in sorghum.
