When a number of factors come together, a rethinking of the existing logistics strategy often becomes unavoidable. This was the case for a manufacturer of photographic products in Leverkusen in Germany. The task was to meet the challenge posed by changing needs for flexibility. Because this could not be accomplished with existing fully automatic material handling technology, the manual variation became the solution of choice: the warehouse truck.
