VW Golf GTI: Not the smoothest of relationships, but we're sorry it's over

Without so much as a waved handkerchief, WSD 25L has departed MOTOR'S long-term garage. It's fair to say our three months with a Golf GTI didn't go exactly to plan, but initial impressions were positive. The Mk VII GTI has made enormous strides in ride and refinement, which, combined with a further lift in interior quality, has made VW's latest hot hatch an extremely pleasant day-to-day drive.
