U.S. House Subcommittee Hears Testimony On CPSIA Improvements

A subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives on April 29 heard testimony on a draft resolution that would provide certain exceptions to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008, which was enacted in response to the discovery of lead in children's toys. The Consumer Product Safety Enhancement Act of 2010 (CPSEA) would "ensure effective implementation of consumer product safety laws by providing exceptions to lead and phthalate prohibitions and regulatory relief for thrift stores, small manufacturers and other businesses."
