Construction of UK's largest bio-mass CHP plant gets underway

From 2012, papermaker Tullis Russell will receive steam and power for its Markinch mill in Fife, Scotland, from a new, ￡200 million state-of-the-art biomass fuelled facility to be located nearby. Power purchase and construction contracts were signed during September 2009 and February this year, and in March RWE npower, which will own and operate the facility and provide power and steam under a 20 year agreement, started its site preparation.
