In an initial stage non plantable areas due to rocks or lakes are assessed and any other desired clearings are defined. The initial area is then further subdivided until the largest non plantable area is reached. In successive iterative stages the Mandelbrot equation is used to select the number of further non plantable zones which are placed at random. The process is continued until minimum spacing of trees for example is reached : Independent claims are also included for the following : (1) a support corresponding to a planting plan produced by the method, and (2) an electronic processing equipment for producing the support and planting plan.
