The chassis was bonded to the body using more resin. Much filling and sanding was needed to get a reasonable finish. If time is invested in getting a good finish on the patterns, the final mouldings should come away without any further work being required. This would be especially important if a production run is required. Sanding hard GRP is a boring and thankless task, even with power tools. The final job was to cut out the 'hatch' in the top of the body, through which access to the internal components will be obtained. I did this using a junior hacksaw blade held between two small pieces of MDF to form a handle. This worked well, giving a thin cut, and allowed quite tight corners to be got around.
