Global coffee prices continued to rise in the period under review amid ongoing concern about high quality arabica supply. The ICO composite indicator price gained 2.91 cents to 527.76 cents/lb between December 3 and December 17. Colombian Mild Arabicas showed the strongest improvement, rising by 11.03 cents to 199.45 cents/lb, as prospects for a significant recovery in 2009/10 output seem to fade. Other Mild Arabicas rose 2.69 cents to 161.16 cents/lb. Brazilian Naturals added 1.59 cents to 135.42 cents/lb, and Robustas increased by 1.13 cents to 70.99 cents/lb.
