A rare event in US legislative history occurred on 17 October 2005 - an entire new chapter of the US Bankruptcy Code took effect. Designated 'Chapter 15', it incorporates into US bankruptcy law the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Model Cross-Border Insolvency Law.
