For an industry that is so vociferous about its efforts to achieve an injury-free culture, it continues to face growing problems with members of the public exposing themselves to potential injury by trespassing on to quarries. In a recent QPA survey, 85 percent of quarry managers expressed concerns over trespass. In some corners of the country it is acute and every instance carries the possibility of public injury and even death - the latter being a harrowing experience for both quarry and community.
