Intermetallic Compounds

These minerals are a small, but very interesting group. In the past, it seems that they have been mixed with and/or mistaken for alloys or perhaps native elements. I will cover about 20 elements here and you will see that more than half of them are cubic and a third are hexagonal. In addition to those in Table One, consider Zn (cubic), Al, Cr, Ir, Pb (all cubic); As, Bi, Co and Te (all hexagonal).
