JUST BEFORE THIS year's Diggers & Dealers show, Avoca Resources Ltd - which has started its quest to become a 500,000 gold ounce producer via an attempted takeover of Dioro NL - told the market it had hit record quarter production of 52,118 ounces at its Higgmsville project. Furthermore, the company's maiden production year at the operation, which is located south of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, totalled an impressive 130,594 oz. In addition, Avoca's Trident mine and treatment plant were both performing well above the 1 million tonne per annum design rate and 5.3 gram/t gold reserve grade.
