The transition of the Challenger gold mine in South Australia from an open pit to an underground operation is complete with full production achieved in the last quarter. Dominion Mining Ltd has yet to post an official production for the final quarter of the 2004-05 financial year but anticipates 17-18,000 tonnes of gold will be produced. Challenger produced 28,270 ounces for the first three quarters of the 2004/05 financial year, targeting production of around 45,000t for the full 12 months.
