Fly in to work, fly out to Bali

A group of Edith Cowan University (ECU) researchers are conducting a study to investigate why some fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) workers choose to work in Australia but live overseas. Lead researcher on the project, Professor Ross Dowling, said investigations by Australian journalists had shown that workers were choosing to go to Bali rather than return home to Australia during their time off because of new flight schedules, the lower cost of living, good climate, and relaxed lifestyle.
