AS QUEENSLAND'S MINING and energy sectors enjoy strong growth, this year's Mining 2008 Kesources Convention will once again provide a valuable insight into the exploration and development activities of nearly 100 of Australia's small to mid-cap companies. The state recorded a 14.2 percent (or 13 million dollars) increase in mineral exploration expenditure to 86.3 million dollars in the March quarter of this year, making it the second most explored jurisdiction in Australia behind Western Australia (but still ahead of South Australia). Part of the increased interest in the state is attributable to the Queensland Government's exploration initiatives.
