Mawson West Ltd's Golden Mile South project in Western Australia has been identified as a company maker by one brokerage. During April Ian Spence of Montagu gave the WA-based company a "speculative buy" recommendation, describing the gold play -- which sits along strike from the famed Kalgoorlie-Boulder Super Pit -- as "very exciting". Mawson West acquired the 130 square kilometre tenements, which sit just four km from the Goldfields' capital, last November. "Of immediate attraction -- and certainly what we consider is capturing the attention and imagination of local and international explorers and miners -- is the project's close proximity to several large mineral deposits, including the potential along strike continuation of the Golden Mile dolerite," Spence said. "Following a history of tenement fragmentation and limited compartmentalised exploration on the project by various previous owners, Mawson West can think 'large and regionally', applying systematic modern day exploration techniques over the ground."
