Consolidated Minerals Ltd has clearly set itself up as a long-term nickel player with its takeover of Titan Resources Ltd. The mining house also has a 22 percent stake in Jabiru Metals Ltd, which has the Jaguar deposit, suggesting something could soon be afoot in terms of that investment. When pressed on the company's intentions for Jabiru, ConsMins boss Michael Kiernan said they were not honorable. "We are just getting ready to give Jabiru the first kiss," he said during a recent Perth briefing. ConsMins' entry into nickel occurred last year when it acquired Reliance Mining Ltd and, in the process, the Beta Hunt nickel mine at Kambalda in Western Australia. "Apart from our manganese and chromite we are looking to produce 10-15,000 tonnes of nickel in three years' time," Kiernan said.
