Perth-based Yilgarn Mining Ltd has secured a significant new exploration front in the nickel sector after announcing a joint venture agreement with Titan Resources Ltd on the historic Carr Boyd Rocks nickel project near Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The junior now plans to target potential Voisey's Bay style nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation. This agreement follows the successful launch of Yilgarn's first mining venture earlier this year with the start of operations at its Rose Dam gold deposit by Paddington Gold Pty Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Placer Dome Asia Pacific Ltd), where material mined will be treated as part of Paddington Gold's Kalgoorlie operations. Forecasts indicate this will generate about 5 million dollars in net cash flow, enabling Yilgarn to accelerate its other exploration and project development activities.
