Steady production rise in train at Ranger

Fnergy Resources of Australia Ltd has continued its recent trend of steadily increasing uranium output from its Ranger mine in the Northern Territory. For the March quarter ERA produced 1,464 tonnes of drummed uranium oxide from 564,000t of ore treated. The first quarter output is a more than 20 percent improvement from the 1,210t extracted from 506,000t of ore for the same quarter in 2004. This result comes on the back of a record production of 5,143t of uranium oxide for the 2004 year which translated into a 38.6 million dollars profit for the calendar year. At the same time however, ERA has faced rising costs from its operations said chief executive Harry Kenyon-Slaney in his address at ERA's annual general meeting.
