NPGA Board Tackles Security, Insurance Concerns at Fall Meeting

Insurance costs, energy and security legislation, relocation keep board members busy. While a comprehensive energy bill, the Homeland Security act, and other significant legislative issues have been at the forefront of industry concerns for months, the lowdown from propane marketers attending the Natioinal Propane Gas Association's (NPGA) fall board meeting was that rising insurance costs and limited availability have been their most pressing day-to-day concerns. Rates have gone up 50% to 100% and more and several companies are not renewing policies and/or have a moratorium on new policies.
