There were some impressive levels of stock deliveries into warehouses last week: 39,175 tonnes going into Chicago on Monday and 44,950 tonnes going into Vlissingen on Wednesday. This suggests that some of the shorts for the September prompt date were delivering metal against their short positions rather than buying the positions back, or rolling them forward.
