PERC Requests Proposals for Ag Initiatives,Web Site Redevelopment

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) in March issued three requests for proposals (RFPs),two of which seek to support the council's agricultural initiatives.The third solicits bids for redevelopment of PERC's www.propanecouncil.org Web site.The first RFP,released March 10,seeks proposals to build a flame burner that can be commercialized and marketed to control weeds in organic crops such as soybeans.Organic farming is one of the fastest-growing segments of U.S.agriculture,and organic soybeans have experienced the fastest growth of all consumer food segments during the past 10 years.
