US West Coast waterfront employers have voted to ratify afive-year labour contract with 20,000 dockworkers, with onlyratification from the union remaining to bring an end to ayear-long dispute. The new contract with the InternationalLongshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) features anenhanced arbitration system designed to supportwaterfront stability, capacity growth and productivity, aswell as health-care changes that will foster efficiency, costcontainmentand fraud prevention, The Pacific MaritimeAssociation (PMA) said.
