The use of a surgical glove in microsurgical training: a new point of view.

Surgeons need sufficient training before performing microvascular anastomoses on human patients such as replanting amputated digits or performing free tissue transfers. The use of rat femoral vessels is a well established model for microvascular training, but it may be costly to purchase and house rats. Those new to the use of a microscope and handling microinstruments could benefit from a model which is easier to set up and manipulate.
