Rick Snyder last week voiced strong support for the safe use of hydraulic fracturing and promoted the concept of a partnership between the state and private industry to develop a "strategic natural gas reserve" for Michigan while delivering a broad-ranging address on energy and the environment to members of the state legislature, scientists, environmentalists and representatives of the business community at the Kellogg Biological Station at Gull Lake, near Battle Creek.
