First three quarters 2008 drilling activity,permit issuance on pace to set highs for decade

MT.PLEASANT,Mich.-A preliminary tally of Michigan oil and gas drilling activity through mid-September 2008 conducted this week by Michigan Oil & Gas News shows that drilling activity in 2008 has already exceeded the total of 373 holes drilled in the first three quarters of lastyear and may top the decade-high first three quarters total of 406 holes drilled in 2006 by the end of the month.
