ACB to add second casting strand to CSP plant

Aceria Compacta de Bizkaia S.A. has awarded an order to SMS Demag AG, Germany, for the supply of the mechanical and electrical equipment and of the automation systems for the second extension phase of the CSP facility. Electric arc furnace 1 is now likewise being revamped following the successful modernization of electric arc furnace 2. This expansion phase also includes the installation of a second CSP casting machine, an equalizing furnace and additional rolling mill equipment. Following completion, the CSP facility will be able to produce hot strip for more exacting requirements in the thickness range of 1.0 to 13 mm.The complete scope of work for the CSP facility comprises engineering, production, erection and supervision of commissioning of the following plant components:- The second CSP casting machine and the pertaining additional mould as well as the segment equipment,- a pendulum shear with crop conveyor,- the second swiveling roller-hearth soaking furnace,- a pendulum shear upstream of the CSP mill train,- the F7 roll stand,- the second downcoiler, and- the coil discharge line and its equipment, including two coil banding machines and a coil sampling station.
