Bayou Stele commissions new roughing mill

VAI Pomini Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, USA, recently commissioned a new six-stand roughing mill located at Bayou Steel in Harriman, TN. The mill equipment was designed and manufactured by VAI Pomini S.r.L.. located in Castellanza. Italy.The new roughing mill replaced an existing cantilevered mill and will process 130 mm square billets to multiple product sections for additional reductions in the existing mil equipment. The new roughing mill was part of an 8 million US dollars capital improvement program at Bayou Steel.
