Hebei Jinxi Iron & Steel starts up heavy beam and section mill

HOT ROLLING Hebei Jinxi Iron & Steel Company Ltd., Hebei Province, China, has put into operation a 1 million t/year heavy beam and section mill supplied by SMS Meer. The first beams were successfully rolled after just 21 months - more than two months ahead of schedule. These sections were already within the admissible dimensional tolerance. In future Jinxi will produce beams with a maximum web height of 900 mm and a maximum flange width of 400 mm on this mill.
