Rapid casting technology helped a racing team make its inaugural run at the Le Mans trophy. The Epsilon Euskadi racing team based out of Vitoria, Spain, had one goal in mind for its eel car: to race it in the 2008 Le Mans 24 Hours race-the world's oldest sports car endurance challenge. The long race would require enhancing a few of the crucial safety features of the eel, including the suspension system's front and rear uprights.
