AMNESTY REPORT: China’s cobalt refineries outline individual measures to oversee supply chain

China’s refineries imported almost a quarter of a million tonnes ofcobalt concentrates from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in2015, according to import statistics obtained by Metal Bulletin.The largest importer was Huayou, which Amnesty Internationalsaid in January bought cobalt concentrate that was likely to havebeen produced in dangerous conditions, or by children, in artisanalmines in the DRC.
