April 2005 was a big month for Las Vegas, NV's McCarran International Airport. That's when two major projects-a 10-gate expansion for the airport's Satellite D Concourse and a separately constructed Ramp Control Tower- came to simultaneous completion. Both are clad with panels fashioned from Alucobond aluminum composite material. But that should come as no surprise. The same product- manufactured by Alcan Composites USA Inc. of St. Louis, MO-was used when the original Satellite D Concourse was built in 1998. Then as now, Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects of Henderson, NV, was the project architect. Also returning after being involved in the construction of the Satellite D Concourse was Thermal Systems KWC of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Carmel Architectural Sales of Anaheim, CA.
