Having already suffered from the abuse of time and neglect, L.B. Landry High School in New Orleans was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, Although many believed the school would not reopen, it was chosen by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Louisiana Recovery Authority and Recovery School District to receive funding and grants to rebuild.
