Taiwanese coil and pipe producer Yieh Loong Enterprise is seeking backers to participate in a project that would see it relocate its pipemaking operations to mainland China and ramp up output by investing in new equipment.The project comes hot on the heels of a similar proposal by another Taiwanese mill, Kao Hsing Change, which this week secured board approval to launch a joint venture with China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) to produce 0.5-60in dia pipes at a site near Shanghai. Should Yieh Loong fail to proceed with its own expansion, it may also seek to co-operate with Kao Hsing Chang, according to industry sources.
