Rooftop Courtyard Shaded With Steel

TUCSON, AZ-Located between the University Of Arizona Medical Research Building and the Thomas Keating Bioresearch Building is a large, rooftop courtyard featuring a 300'-long, 87'-tall steel shade structure. The canopy was created using a Solar mesh system from Cambridge Architectural of Cambridge, MD. It consists of 240 4' x 37' stainless steel Shade mesh panels, with custom Railway attachment hardware, stretched between stainless steel cables. The cables were integrated into the mesh for effective tension ing with minimum intermediate supports.
