This is the first of a series or articles which I propose to submit to the MSG Bulletin. How many articles there will be I am unable to predict at this stage. They will be concerned mainly with our adventures, Naureen's and mine, since 1967, when we undertook our first major research trip to the Northern Cape and Namibia (then South West Africa). However, I had been on some expeditions before that mainly with our late friend Ernst Fritz and I should probably start with some of these.
