Permanent magnets are compact and reliable sources of magnetic energy. They do not require an additional power supply and are simple and reliable to use. Magnetically hard materials of the neodymium-iron-boron system that were discovered in 1984 revolutionized the development of electronic instrument design and led to major advances in communications, automotive engineering, and other fields. The high specific energy of these magnets (Fig. 1) has made it possible to create powerful miniaturized magnetic systems. Since their discovery, magnetically hard materials of the Nd-Fe-B system have been obtained by rapid quenching [1, 2] and powder metallurgy [3]. In recent years, the technology of rapid quenching has been used to produce isotropic magnets on a binder (magnetoplastics), while powder metallurgy has been used to make sintered anisotropic magnets.
