Fendt's powerful 1000 series tractors were launched in Australia last month when AGCO unveiled the big green machines at Horsham in the Victorian Wimmera.There are four models in the range; the 1038 (396hp), 1042 (435hp), 1046 (476hp) and the range-topping 1050 with peak power of 517hp or 380kW. Each model is also available in three levels of specification; PowerPlus, Profi and ProfiPlus.All four tractors are powered by a six-cylinder, 12.4 litre MAN diesel engine which sees the 1050 punching out 2400Nm of torque at just 1100 engine revs.Whatever way you look at it, the Fendt is a beast of a tractor. Curb weight is 14 tonnes and maximum weight is 23 tonnes.
