50kW Photovoltaic and 70kW Biogas Combined Power Generating Systems Installed in Prey Nop, the Kingdom of Cambodia

Meiden Plant Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (Meiden Plant hereafter) was received a. 2nd project research contruct by Shikoku Research Institute Incorporated, for the Demonstrative Research Project in Combined Power Generating Systems (Photovoltaic and Biogas), which is the demonstrative research and development undertaking promoted by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). According to this project, the combined photovoltaic and biogas power generating systems were installed in Prey Mop District, the Kingdom of Cambodia so that demonstrative research could be conducted on the systems intended for the electrification of un-electrified villages. The biogas power generating systems, the construction of which was undertaken by Meiden Plant, continued stable operation during the demonstrative operation period. The monthly power transmission attained 2194kWh in November 2004. Such an achievement was a great contribution to the life style of the village inhabitants in the service areas.
