Exxaro changes it's mind on Botswana

A year ago Exxaro Resources was playing down its project on Botswana's Mmamabula coal field adjacent the group's existing Grootegeluk mine on South Africa's Waterberg coal field, which is the eastward extension of the Mmamabula. According to management then, it was "very early days" in Botswana and the group "had so much on its plate in South Africa" that developments in Botswana looked unlikely. In 12 months all that has changed. Presenting Exxaro's results for the year to December executive director Mike Kilbride said the recent drilling programme at Mmamabula Central has "indicated positive results." He added that; "further geological drilling and modelling will continue during 2007 with a feasibility study commencing in 2008."
