Indonesian coal producers and their customers have pushed back shipping schedules to accommodate lower production that has been hit by the resuregent wet season further tightening the market. "Customers are swapping about laycans to save on demurrage," said one producer. Until recently, producers have said that the rains have cut about 30 percent from output, but some reported that production had recently been halved at some mines as a second bout of rain hit the region - east Kalimantan being hardest hit. One small mine in east Kalimantan said it is operating around half its normal rate, while it's thought that at another mid-sized mine daylight operations were roughly normal, but the night shift was cut out entirely for about a week.
