COMBINED COLOMBIAN and Venezuelan coal deliveries to Peru fell to 0.26 mt in January-October, down from 0.28 mt a year earlier, and from 0.75 mt in the same period of 2013. Coal shipments to Peru have significantly deteriorated in recent years because cement producers have been slowly replacing coal with cheaper imports of petcoke, domestic anthracite and, in a few cases, domestic sub-bituminous coal.
