Colombia's April exports reach record high

Colombia's steam coal exports reached a record monthly high of 7.25mt in April, beating December's 7.13mt and July's 7.12mt. Shipments for the first four months were 26.94mt, up 19% from 22.63mt exported over the same period in 2011, according to the latest statistics compiled by IHS McCloskey.The increase is split between deliveries to Europe, where exports were up 23%, or 3.6mt, to 19.1mt during the period, and in deliveries to Asia where exports during the Jan-April period were 2.45mt, a 280% increase from just 0.6Smt last year.
